Cloud Piercer
by Hannah Kagawa
Solo for 5 octave Marimba
Duration: 6:30Level: Hard

Description
A gorgeous, flowing marimba solo commissioned and premiered in 2025 by Steven Logan. The title Cloud Piercer comes from the English translation of Aoraki, New Zealand's tallest mountain. With its soaring melodies and rolling ostinatos, the piece captures the magnificent scenery of the New Zealand Southern Alps and the nostalgia of my childhood growing up there.
